Privacy policy
FareTime is made by Video Village Creative, Inc., a company in Florida, USA ("we"). This policy explains what FareTime stores about you, why, and what you can do about it. Questions: [email protected].
The short version
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or use advertising or analytics trackers.
- Your records live on your phone first. When you sign in, they also sync to our servers so they're on all your devices.
- Receipt photos stay on your phone. They are not uploaded.
- We never compare your earnings with anyone else's.
- You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.
What FareTime stores
Your account. Your email address and the name you give us. Your password is handled by our sign-in provider and stored only in a scrambled form we cannot read.
Your work records. What you enter to track and bill your work: clients and their contact details, events and booked dates, hours, breaks and time zones, rates and terms, per diem, kit, call times, invoices, and the business details you put on your invoices (business name, address, phone and invoicing email).
Receipts. The amount, description and category you enter. Photos and files you attach are kept on your device and are not uploaded.
Camera and photos. FareTime uses the camera or your photo library only when you choose to add a receipt.
Location. FareTime does not use your device's location. If you type an event's city to look up a per diem rate, we send that city name, and nothing else about you, to the US General Services Administration's per diem service.
Notifications. Reminders, such as call times and invoice due dates, are scheduled on your phone. We don't run a push-notification service.
Crash reports. FareTime contains no analytics or crash-reporting software. If you have agreed in your device settings to share crash data with app developers, Apple may pass crash reports to us.
Sign-ups on this website. If you sign up for updates on faretime.app, we store your email address, which phone you use if you tell us, whether you asked to try FareTime early, and when you signed up. We use it to send you a confirmation, news about FareTime and, if you asked, an invitation to try it early. Every email has an unsubscribe link. To check that a person is filling in the form, it uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at basic details of your browser and connection without tracking you across sites.
Emails you send us. If you write to [email protected], we keep your message and address to reply.
This website. faretime.app is delivered by Cloudflare, which processes basic connection details such as your IP address to serve and protect the site. We don't use tracking cookies.
How we use it
Only to run FareTime for you: to calculate and show your hours and pay, keep your devices in sync, send sign-in emails, answer your messages and, once subscriptions are available, handle your subscription. We don't use your records to compare you with other people, and we don't share them with AI services. If a future feature would, it will ask you first.
Who helps us run FareTime
These companies process data on our behalf, only to provide their part of the service:
- Supabase: database and sign-in (servers in the United States).
- PowerSync: keeping your devices in sync.
- Resend: sending sign-in, sign-up confirmation and FareTime emails.
- Cloudflare: hosting this website, storing website sign-ups, and checking sign-ups come from people (Turnstile).
- Google Workspace: our support email.
- Apple: app distribution and, if you opt in, crash reports.
- A payment company: taking subscription payments, once subscriptions are on sale. We'll name it here before then. We never see or store your card number.
- Intuit QuickBooks: only if you choose to connect it to import your past invoices (coming soon).
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to a company that takes over FareTime, which would be bound by this policy.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep website sign-ups until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We keep your account data while you have an account. To delete your account and everything stored with it, email [email protected] from your account's address; in-app deletion is coming. We delete it from our servers within 30 days. Data stored only on your phone is removed when you delete the app.
You can export your invoices as PDFs at any time. A full export of your records is coming.
Security
Data travels encrypted (HTTPS), and access rules on our servers keep each account's records visible only to that account. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you if a breach affects it.
Children
FareTime is a work tool for adults and isn't directed to children under 16.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data. Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU or the UK) you may have further rights under local law. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and for significant changes we'll tell you by email or in the app before they take effect.
